INSET – Assessment for Learning

Teaching and Learning staff from all 5 of our schools came together in Weston Super Mare to focus on this year’s key priority – assessment. We shared ideas for formative assessment, explored the magical powers of Insight and Tapestry and heard from assessment guru Dylan Wiliam who zoomed in from Florida to share his research and practical ideas for effective classroom practice.

The Parklands team were excellent hosts and it was great to welcome  Abbey Farm’s brand new team all the way from Swindon. Loads of great ideas were shared and we will keep it going – the main feedback was that it was fantastic to get together and feel part of a bigger team all striving for the same thing – excellent child-centred education.

It was great to see such productive discussion and collaboration.
