Laura has worked in education for over 18 years. Starting out as the founder/director of the Madrelingue school, teaching English through music and drama in Italy. She qualified as a UK teacher in 2012 and then gained distinction* in the National Award for Special Education Needs Coordination from the Institute of Education and a Post graduate certificate in Language, Literacies and Dyslexia from Birmingham University.
In addition, she has an extensive knowledge of specialist strategies and interventions for Communication and Interaction needs, having worked closely with the Speech and Language team in Hackney to establish school wide communication friendly practices and a carousel of specialist interventions. The work they did together resulted in the Royal College of Speech and Language using the school to film a promotional video and as a centre for their staff to visit in order to see effective Inclusive practices in action.
