Admissions September 2018: Now closed
Parklands Educate Together Primary are offering 60 reception class places in September 2018. Applications are now closed and places will be allocated and offered on April 16th 2018. If you have yet to apply please contact your Local Authority as soon as possible to make a late application: please visit the council schools website.
Due to complications the new school building will be completed for September 2019. We are working closely with North Somerset Council to create a suitable temporary solution and hope to locate the school on the field next to the Radio Wing for one academic year. To view the plans for the temporary accommodation please visit the planning portal.
In the unlikely event that a temporary solution can not be found North Somerset Council will contact all applicants to select another school preference in place of Parklands Educate Together: this will not adversely affect your child's application for other schools.
If over subscribed the school will operate the following admissions criteria, detailed in our Admissions Policy.
Parklands Educate Together Primary: Headteacher, Steve Davis
Educate Together are delighted to welcome Steve to the team as Headteacher.
Steve was brought up and educated in Staffordshire. He received a BA Hons degree in History from Warwick University in 1989. Following a period of working with adults with learning difficulties, he developed a passion for education. He received a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education in 1991 and began his teaching career in the Cotswolds. He then relocated to the Bristol area in 1994 and taught in Clevedon for four years before becoming Deputy Headteacher at Winscombe Primary School in 1998. His second Deputy post was at Kingshill School in Nailsea and he became co-headteacher of this school in 2008. In 2010 he took up his first full-time headteacher post at Northleaze C of E Primary School in Long Ashton, Bristol before becoming headteacher of Parklands Educate Together Primary School in Locking, Weston-super-Mare in 2018.
He married in 1995 and has two grown-up children with his wife who is also a teacher. Outside of education, he enjoys sports and runs a youth football team. He also enjoys reading, films, travel and walking the family cocker spaniel, Harvey.
The new school will be the third academy operated by the Trust. The first, Redfield Educate Together Primary, Bristol opened its doors in 2014 in a temporary location, to move into its new home in 2015. The second, Somerdale Educate Together Primary, Keynsham opened its doors to pupils in September 2017 in a new building. Also opening in September 2018 is Mulberry Park Educate Together, Bath and Swindon, Abbey farm in 2019 (tbc).
